About Datamask Aviation

Datamask Aviation is a free, pilot-facing weather viewer operated by Data Mask j.d.o.o., a small data-analytics company based in Zagreb, Croatia. The site renders current METAR and TAF reports for any ICAO airport in the world, decoded into plain language with flight-category, wind, visibility and cloud summaries.

The site fetches its observations primarily from the NOAA NWS tgftp public OPMET feed, which redistributes World Meteorological Organization (WMO) aeronautical bulletins. We are also evaluating direct integrations with several national meteorological services to serve their respective regions from origin-side authoritative sources.

We also operate internal tooling that benchmarks OPMET-feed propagation latency, which informs our source selection.

Audience

The site is aimed at student pilots, general aviation pilots, flight-training organisations and aviation enthusiasts who want a fast, no-login way to look at decoded METAR and TAF for any airport.

Datamask Aviation is not a certified flight-planning or navigational service. Operational decisions must be made on the basis of products supplied by a certified aeronautical meteorological service in accordance with ICAO Annex 3.
